Engineer Hermann Tilke's track has hosted the Chinese Grand Prix every year since it debuted in Formula 1 in 2004. From its inception in 1997 until 2019, it has played home to sixteen Grands Prix. Aerodynamically speaking, this track has a medium load, with a length of 5451 kilometers and sixteen bends. The powertrain track is particularly challenging in China, where drivers often apply heavy pressure on the accelerator. The first sector is difficult because it includes the first three turns, which drivers may negotiate in various ways. In the Chinese Grand Prix, drivers will compete in sprint races
An first sprint race of the season will take place during the Chinese Grand Prix. Friday morning will be devoted to a single free practice session on the Shanghai track before the sprint race qualifying session begins in the afternoon. Getting ready for Sunday's Grand Prix begins with a brief 100-kilometer race on Saturday morning. Qualifying follows in the afternoon. Some sessions will be presented live and free on TV8 for the first time this year, in addition to the live coverage on Sky Sport.
